Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 1, 2026
LyricaLearn is operated by Kawaki Technologies LLC ("LyricaLearn", "Kawaki", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect information when you use the LyricaLearn app, LyricaLearn.com, account features, learning features, subscriptions, ads, support, and waitlist or contact forms that link to this policy.
This policy is written for the current product behavior. Some code, permissions, or configuration may exist for features that are not enabled in the shipped product; those disabled features are not described here as active data practices.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use LyricaLearn. The main categories are:
- Account information: Firebase user ID, sign-in provider, email address, display name, profile photo from your sign-in provider, authentication metadata, and account settings.
- Learning information: target and native language preferences, recent searches, recently listened songs, saved or favorite stations, lesson access wallet data, XP, gems, hearts, streaks, daily goals, listening time, mastered-word counts, song, verse, word, sentence, character-study, and spaced repetition progress.
- App interaction information: screen views, lesson starts, time spent in lessons or streams, track save actions, completion events, ad interactions, feature usage, device platform, and approximate timestamps.
- Public profile and social data: public profile document, display name, profile photo URL, privacy settings, optional public learning stats, optional recent activity, follower/following relationships, follow requests, and follow invite tokens.
- Purchase and subscription data: subscription entitlement state, product identifiers, purchase history or renewal status received from app stores and RevenueCat, and related billing snapshots. We do not receive or store full credit card numbers.
- Ads and consent data: ad disclosure completion, personalized-ads preference, advertising identifiers or device identifiers where permitted by your device and Google ad services, ad unit activity, rewarded-ad reward status, and lesson credit wallet updates.
- Push notification data: push notification preference, permission status, and push tokens or delivery data when needed to register for and send notifications.
- Diagnostics and security data: crash reports, performance traces, error messages, sanitized log attributes, device and platform details, IP-derived technical data, and abuse-prevention records.
- Waitlist and support data: email address, phone number if you provide it, waitlist source, consent and unsubscribe state, support messages, privacy requests, and related timestamps.
We do not ask for your device contacts. Follow features use LyricaLearn account relationships, not your phone address book.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, and maintain your account.
- Sync learning progress, preferences, SRS state, stats, streaks, and lesson access across devices.
- Personalize learning content, restore saved progress, and show progress or review queues.
- Operate public profile, follow, invitation, and leaderboard features according to your privacy settings.
- Provide, verify, restore, and troubleshoot subscriptions and purchase entitlements.
- Show ads to eligible non-subscribers, apply ad consent choices, and grant rewarded lesson credits.
- Send push notifications when you enable them.
- Measure app performance, diagnose crashes, investigate errors, protect against fraud or abuse, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support messages and privacy requests.
- Operate the waitlist and send marketing updates only when you sign up for them.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, safety, and app-store obligations.
3. Account Creation and Authentication
LyricaLearn uses Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In to create and authenticate app accounts. Firebase assigns a user ID to your account. If you sign in with Google, Google may provide us with your email address, display name, profile photo, and sign-in token needed to authenticate you.
Some public waitlist flows may use anonymous Firebase Authentication to submit the form securely. Anonymous waitlist authentication is separate from a full app account.
4. Learning Progress, Preferences, and Stats
When you sign in, LyricaLearn syncs app state to Firebase Firestore so your learning experience can follow you across devices. This includes language preferences, recent searches, recently listened songs, saved stations, XP, gems, hearts, streaks, daily goals, listening time, lesson access wallet state, song and sentence progress, word and verse progress, character-study progress, answer history, and spaced repetition data.
Some learning events may also be sent to server-side analytics for creator and product insights, such as lesson starts, lesson time, lesson completion, stream starts, stream time, and track save actions.
5. Public Profiles, Social Features, and Visibility
LyricaLearn can create a public profile document for signed-in users. Public profiles may include your user ID, display name, profile photo URL, and public counters or learning information that you choose to make visible. Privacy settings control whether stats, achievements, weekly XP, streak, and recent activity are shown.
Follow features create records for follower and following relationships, follow requests, and follow invite tokens. Other signed-in users may be able to view the parts of your public profile and social relationship state that the app exposes.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Mobile subscriptions and purchases are handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat. LyricaLearn uses RevenueCat to check whether your account has an active entitlement, restore purchases, and show subscription status.
We may send RevenueCat your Firebase user ID, email address, and display name so entitlements can be associated with your app account. Purchase records, receipts, tax, refund, chargeback, and subscription audit data may be kept by the app stores and RevenueCat according to their own rules. We do not directly collect or store full payment card details.
7. Ads, Ad Identifiers, and Ad Consent
LyricaLearn may show ads to eligible users who are not recognized as Pro subscribers. The app uses Google Mobile Ads on mobile and Google AdSense on web. Mobile ad consent may be requested through Google's consent tools before ads are requested. Web ads currently use a non-personalized ad request after the account-level ad disclosure is completed.
Depending on your platform, device settings, consent choices, and Google ad services, ads may use advertising identifiers, device identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad interaction data, and other technical data to deliver, measure, limit, and secure ads. Rewarded ads may pass your app user ID to Google AdMob server-side verification so we can grant lesson credits and prevent duplicate rewards.
You can update in-app ad disclosure and personalized-ads preferences in profile settings where the app provides those controls. Your operating system and Google may also provide ad personalization or advertising ID controls.
8. Analytics, Diagnostics, Crash, and Performance Logs
We use Firebase Performance Monitoring, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Cloud logging, and Bitdrift to understand reliability and diagnose issues. These services may process crash data, performance data, screen or session events, device and platform details, error messages, sanitized attributes, timestamps, and similar diagnostic data.
LyricaLearn's telemetry code limits and sanitizes attributes before sending them to Firebase-style metrics. Diagnostic information may still contain technical identifiers or contextual details needed to reproduce and fix problems.
9. Push Notifications
Push notifications are off until you enable them and grant system permission. If you enable push notifications, LyricaLearn may register your device for push notifications through Expo and the platform push services, store your notification preference, and use push tokens or delivery data to send requested notifications.
If you turn off push notifications in the app, LyricaLearn updates your in-app preference and clears local notification state where supported. You can also control notification permission in your device settings.
10. Account Deletion
If you have a signed-in app account, you can start account deletion from the app profile settings under the privacy controls. The deletion flow calls our account-deletion service for the authenticated account owner.
Account deletion is designed to delete your Firebase Authentication account, app-owned Firestore account data, synced learning stores, privacy settings, public profile, SRS items, lesson access wallet, social follow records, follow invite tokens, app-owned RevenueCat snapshots or events, and user-owned storage objects under known user prefixes.
Some shared records may be anonymized instead of deleted when they are needed to maintain service quality or safety, such as shared radio station trust records. External app-store and RevenueCat purchase records may remain outside LyricaLearn's Firestore where needed for tax, chargeback, fraud, subscription entitlement, or legal reasons.
Deleting your LyricaLearn account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through the store account that handled the purchase.
If you cannot access the app, contact us at hello@kawakitechnologies.com and ask for account deletion. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request.
11. Privacy Requests and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may be able to request access to personal information we have about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your information, or that we stop using specific information. You can start these requests from the app privacy controls or by emailing hello@kawakitechnologies.com.
App-account privacy controls are separate from marketing waitlist email. Joining or leaving the marketing waitlist does not change your app account privacy settings. Marketing messages include an unsubscribe path, and you can also ask us to remove waitlist contact information by emailing support.
We may ask for information needed to verify your identity, find your account, understand the request, and protect other users' information. We will respond as required by applicable law for your location.
12. Where Information Is Stored and Shared
We store and process app data using Firebase and Google Cloud services, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Storage, Firebase Performance Monitoring, Crashlytics, and related Google Cloud logging. Some product catalog, media, or infrastructure data may be processed through Google Cloud or Firebase-related services.
We share information with service providers only as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Current providers visible in the app or backend include:
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database, storage, functions, hosting, diagnostics, logging, and security.
- Google Sign-In for account authentication.
- Google Mobile Ads, Google AdSense, and Google consent tools for ads and ad consent.
- RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play for subscriptions, purchase verification, entitlement status, restores, refunds, and store billing.
- Expo and platform push-notification services for push token registration and notification delivery.
- Bitdrift for native app diagnostics, session investigation, and reliability monitoring.
- Music, lyrics, radio, video, or catalog providers when the app loads third-party media or metadata.
- Email or SMS delivery providers for waitlist, support, or requested communications.
- Professional advisers, authorities, or transaction counterparties when required for legal, security, accounting, or business reasons.
13. International Transfers and Overseas Processors
LyricaLearn is operated from the United States. For the initial launch review, this policy is intended for availability in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, India, and Indonesia.
If you use LyricaLearn from one of those countries, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Overseas processors may include Google Firebase and Google Cloud, Google Sign-In, Google ads services, RevenueCat, Apple, Google Play, Expo, Bitdrift, email or SMS delivery providers, and media or catalog providers.
Privacy laws in the countries where information is processed may differ from the laws where you live. We use service providers to operate the app, protect users, support purchases, provide ads, send notifications, respond to requests, and maintain records as described in this policy.
14. Data Retention
We keep account, learning, subscription entitlement, privacy setting, social, and app state data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the product. Some short history, such as recent activity or recent progress summaries, may be pruned or limited by the app over time.
Diagnostic, security, and logging data is kept for as long as reasonably needed to troubleshoot, secure, analyze, and operate the service. Support and privacy request records may be kept as needed to handle the request and maintain business records.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize app-owned account data as described above, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, or subscription entitlement reasons. App stores, RevenueCat, Google, and other providers may retain their own records under their policies.
15. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including Firebase security rules, authenticated callable functions, scoped account deletion, and provider security controls.
No transmission or storage system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, app store account, and sign-in credentials secure.
16. Children
LyricaLearn is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
17. Third-Party Links and Services
LyricaLearn may link to or load content from third-party websites, platforms, app stores, media services, video services, social platforms, and payment or subscription pages. Their privacy policies govern their own data practices.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate channel.
